Iranian women’s gymnastics has reached a historic milestone after Yalda Hassan-Shokati and Shaghayegh Cheraghi captured a silver medal at the Asian Trampoline Gymnastics Championships in Hong Kong. The achievement marks the first official international medal won by Iranian female gymnasts since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, according to Iranian sports authorities and national Olympic officials.

The breakthrough came in the senior women’s synchronized trampoline event, where Hassan-Shokati and Cheraghi delivered a strong performance to finish as Asian runners-up and claim the silver medal. Their result represents a landmark moment for Iranian gymnastics and women’s sport in the country.
