Asian Tennis Federation invites five Iranian referees — including two women — to officiate at the 2026 Asian Games

Breaking New Ground in Tennis Officiating

For the first time in history, Iranian women will serve as tennis officials at the Asian Games. The Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) has officially invited five tennis referees from Iran — including two women and three men — to officiate the tennis competitions at the upcoming 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.

This selection not only reflects the professional standing of Iranian officials in Asian tennis but also marks a significant milestone in the country’s sporting history, as female referees take the court at this prestigious continental event.

Meet the Iranian Officials

The Iranian referees appointed for the tennis tournaments at the 2026 Asian Games (Aichi-Nagoya) are:

  • Saman Hasani
  • Sina Ebrahimiān
  • Masih Salah
  • Laya Khyām-bāshi
  • Fatemeh Jamshidi-Nasab

These officials have been included in the list of referees for the Games, and will be part of the officiating team during the tennis competitions.

Importantly, two of these referees are women — a first for Iranian tennis at the Asian Games level.
