Civilized Europe: One in Three Women in the EU is a Victim of Sexual Violence

The European Union, in its latest report, has announced that gender-based violence continues to be widespread across the union, with a significant portion of these cases never being reported to official authorities.

A new EU report reveals that one in three women in member states faces gender-based violence. The European Commission has stated that a large number of women have experienced sexual harassment at work or have faced an abusive partner in their lifetime.

The Commission has warned that a significant portion of this violence is under-reported compared to other types of crimes. Consequently, the actual statistics on sexual violence against women are estimated to be higher than the official figures.

Citing World Health Organization (WHO) data on the status of European women and girls, the United Nations has also stated that millions of survivors of sexual violence are left without access to essential and time-sensitive medical and psychological care.

According to WHO statistics, 28.6% of European women and girls over the age of 15 experience physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime. The report emphasizes that victims refrain from reporting these incidents to the police due to fear, shame, or concerns about child custody. As a result, official data only captures a limited part of the violence.

The World Health Organization has also announced that the Israeli regime has refused to provide information regarding sexual violence against Israeli women.
