On Wednesday, January the 4th 2023, on the upcoming birthday of Lady Fatima Zahra (P.B.U.H); Iran’s Supreme Leader met with a group of educated and well-known women of the country.
Regarding Islam’s view & Islamic Republic of Iran’s actions towards Women
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei said in this meeting:
“The position of the Islamic Republic towards the western hypocritical claimants in the category of women is demanding and attacking; because the decadent Western culture are really guilty in this regard. They have committed multiple crimes against the dignity of women. Moreover, regarding this matter we hope that the views of Islam will be clarified by female elites who have power over the public opinion of the Western societies.
In Islamic and humanitarian values, there are no difference between men and women. Men and women are different in nature, and this difference may effect their individual responsibility at home and within the community.”
He added:
“Unlike the deeply patriarchal Western capitalist system, in Islam, both men and women are prominent; and have legal, intellectual, theoretical and practical privileges in some matters. The Westerners now falsely attribute their inherent patriarchy to Islam. In this view, anyone who can accumulate more wealth has more material value and naturally; according to the characteristics of men in capital accumulation, the capitalist system is a patriarchal system.
The main purpose of raising the issue of women’s freedom in the West; was to drag them from the home to their factories and workshops so they can use women as workforce.”
Iran’s Leader continued:
“In this really sad story, the capitalist system, using all kinds of methods, convinces the woman that her benefit and value lies in the behavior that makes her sexual attractiveness more prominent for the men on the street, and this is the biggest blow to a woman’s dignity and status.
Contrary to this degenerate view, God in the Holy Qur’an calls women as role-models for men and says that “Noah’s wife and Lot’s wife are role-models for unbelieving men and women, and Pharaoh’s wife and Maryam are models for all believing men and women”.
How have Western countries acted towards Women?
The alleged freedom of the capitalist system is the same as “captivity and insult” to women, and it’s absolute shameful to even mention some of these happened incidents in the West.”
“Freedom in relationships policy has caused the greed of Western men to increase, so that, themselves say that assaults that happen to women and girls, apart from it being in the streets, work and academic environments, they have also extended to the regular and iron formations of the army and its rates are increasing more day by day,” he said.
“The trade and sexual slavery, the breaking of all moral and customary boundaries and the legalization of issues such as homosexuality, which is forbidden in all divine religions; and other scandals, are the results of the western view towards women,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
About the importance of Women & Family
Seyed Ali Khamenei continued:
“Family formation is based on a general law in creation, namely the law of marriage, this view is at the opposite point of the Hegelian and Marxist contrast, which says that movement is caused by conflict, because in the logic of Islam, movement includes the continuation of the generation arising from marriage and companionship, and this theory needs serious and fundamental work to clarify it within different communities.
Compliance with these rules; will make the family and society healthy because a family is a building block of any society. As a mother, a woman has the right to life; because she gives birth to her children and raises them with unconditional love. Mothers are the responsible for transmitting the elements of national identity and planting the seeds of faith and morality in the hearts of their children.”
Iran’s Leader said: “Of course, being a housewife does not mean staying at home and avoiding teaching, striving, and political and social activities, but it means that a woman can do any other work that is possible and interested in under the originality of being a housewife. Just as no woman has any doubt in the priority of saving her child’s life over some administrative work; there is no doubt in the importance of moral and religious upbringing of the child, and if a woman has to choose one of the two fields, the family is more important.
Muslim Women and their duty
Sometimes the importance of a duty is even higher than saving the lives of children, spouses and parents. This danger has also raised the voice of benevolent and reformist Western thinkers; but the downward spiral of the gradual collapse of the family in the West is so fast that it is impossible to stop or correct it. Hijab is undoubtedly an inviolable necessity. This inviolable necessity should not cause those who do not fully observe hijab to be accused of irreligion or anti-patriotism.
The best advertisement for the hijab is that our female athlete becomes a champion; and raises her country’s flag in front of international cameras while standing on the champion’s podium wearing a hijab.”
“Before the revolution, there were very few wise women, scientists and researchers, but the revolution led to the growth of educated women in such a way that female students outnumbered male students in some years and a large number of women are working in various fields of science and technology.”
Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei ended his speech by saying:
“Not forget to mention that sometimes men rely on their physical strength to oppress women, and in these cases, in order to preserve the family, family laws must be so strong and supportive of the oppressed party that the man is not able to oppress the woman, of course, there are also cases where the woman is the oppressor; which there are very limited cases in this matter.”
