Jenna Ortega, the American actress known for the hit series “Wednesday,” has spoken out against the Israeli regime’s aggressive attacks on Iran, emphasizing the urgent need for global attention to “humanitarian catastrophes.”
A Plea for Humanity Amidst Conflict
In a message posted on Instagram, Ortega wrote, “Innocent citizens of Iran are caught in the middle of a war.” She added that “from every corner of the world, cries of injustice are rising,” and warned against allowing the international community’s focus to be diverted from such critical issues. The rising star stressed, “How can we care about anything else when human freedom across the seas is being trampled with such violence?”

Escalation of Violence and International Reaction
The Israeli regime launched extensive airstrikes on various areas in Tehran on Friday morning. This aggression led to the martyrdom of several commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and a large number of civilians, including women and children, triggering a wave of international reactions.
Standing with Palestine and Calling for Awareness
Ortega, who has previously made headlines for her support of Palestinians, continued in her message, stating, “The voices of Palestinians are still being buried in the media. People in Los Angeles have been uprooted from their normal lives.” She warned that to say “what is happening in the world does not concern us is an abuse of the privilege we enjoy.” She then emphasized that people should be as informed as possible about world events and show solidarity through shared pain. “Listen to each other and love; but also be angry. Be as informed as you can.”
A Voice for a New Generation
Ortega, who gained fame for her roles in the “Scream” horror film series and was nominated for a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s “Wednesday,” had previously withdrawn from the “Scream” franchise in protest of the dismissal of her co-star Melissa Barrera due to Barrera’s support for Palestine.
The 23-year-old actress, who has become a popular figure in the horror and teen drama genres in recent years, is now recognized not only for her artistic endeavors but also as one of the conscious and influential voices of the younger generation—a generation that refuses to be silent and demands to be heard in the face of global injustice.
