BBC Persian’s Latest Misrepresentation: Glamorizing PJAK Terrorists

by خانم هاشمی

Anti-Iran media outlets continue their pattern of supporting terrorism by glamorizing two members of the PJAK terrorist group.

Persian-language media and satellite networks are working to manipulate public opinion by portraying two women condemned to death for their membership in terrorist groups as innocent individuals.

One of these media outlets, with a long history of whitewashing terrorist group members, is BBC Persian. This British media outlet, which previously attempted to support Iranian terrorists by photoshopping out their weapons, is now trying to create a positive image of them by publishing pictures of them wearing colorful local clothing.

In the California wildfires, BBC Persian, in stark contrast to its approach towards Iran, published colorful and rosy images. While it attributes even the smallest incident or deficiency in the most remote areas of Iran to the incompetence of Iranian officials.

When Iran had only five coronavirus deaths, BBC Persian ran the headline “Iran is the second deadliest place for the coronavirus” with a photo of terrified Iranian women. However, for the extremely tragic and frightening news of the increase in British deaths to 32,000 and the UK’s ranking as the first in Europe in this regard, they used a peaceful image; a picture of an old man smiling while watching a parrot in a green space!

Of course, this media policy is not limited to BBC Persian alone. Iran International, in the case of another separatist woman, a member of the Komaleh terrorist group, used Photoshop to erase the gun in her hand to present her as a social activist.
