Qatar tries to keep the World-Cup atmosphere stable

by Narges Mohammadi

AL RAYYAN/QATAR – After certain incidents that happened in Iran, and for about 2 months this country experienced complete instability that was led by foreign forces outside Iran, and now that this country is in absolute peace; few groups of oppositionists to the Islamic Republic of Iran, tried putting all attentions on themselves and disrupting the matches that the Iranian National team was scheduled on,  by having certain outfits that have an anti-Islamic republic of Iran content and messages.

A Few Examples:

On Friday, November the 25th, while Iran and Wales were scheduled for their math, a man wearing a jersey declaring support for the anti-governmental protesters in Iran was escorted by security officers into the stadium where the national team was due to play a World Cup match with Wales on Friday.  It was not immediately confirmed why the man, wearing a shirt declaring “WOMEN, LIFE, FREEDOM “, was being accompanied by three security officers in blue.

The media liaison at the stadium for world governing body FIFA did not immediately respond to a request for comment, while the stadium media manager was not aware of the incidents but would respond later.

A spokesperson for the organising supreme committee referred us to FIFA, and Qatar’s list of prohibited items; the rules ban items with “political, offensive, or discriminatory messages”. Another Iranian fan said she had sneaked a T-shirt past security into the stadium grounds but that her friends had been turned away because of their T-shirts which read “WOMEN LIFE FREEDOM“.

Inside the stadium, a woman with dark red tears painted from her eyes held aloft a soccer jersey with “Mahsa Amini – 22” printed on the back – a reference to the 22-year-old Iranian Kurdish young woman whose death in police custody two months ago ignited protests in Iran. A man standing next to her held a shirt printed with the words “WOMEN, LIFE, FREEDOM“, one of the main chants of the protests.

Now, as Iran is one of the rightful contributors to the World Cup and Qatar did set some regulations for football fans who attend the matches, Hamad Bin Ali Stadium authorities banned these individuals from entering the area with these political signs.

The recent uproars in Iran, and the media propaganda that is operated by certain media press that are outside Iran; turned most governmental officials around the world against Iran. However, there are some countries that did not fall into this sick game and they all stand by Iran against the false claimants of WOMEN RIGHTS, Qatar is one of those countries.

Our Message to Qatar:

Furthermore, we sincerely express our gratitude towards Qatar authorities for being so strong and standing against any sick media outlet, we truly appreciate all your support for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
