A program fostering hope and resistance among Iranian and Lebanese women through Quranic gatherings during Ramadan.
The “Victorious Ummah” Initiative
The “Victorious Ummah” initiative, launched by the Women’s Affairs Department of the Islamic Propagation Organization, aims to cultivate a spirit of hope and exchange ideas on resistance between Iranian and Lebanese women. This is achieved through Quranic gatherings during the holy month of Ramadan.
Understanding Resistance Through the Quran
Sara Talebi, Director of the Women’s Steering and Coordination Center of the Islamic Propagation Organization, explained that the initiative seeks to analyze the concept of resistance, its dimensions, and its implications from a Quranic perspective. It aims to provide a conceptual model of resistance based on Quranic verses, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of resistance among people.

A Shared Model of Resistance
The “Victorious Ummah” initiative, part of the “Living with Verses” program, strives to develop a shared model of resistance inspired by the Quran. This model serves as a roadmap for integrating resistance into daily life.
Women’s Role in Resistance
The initiative highlights the crucial role of women in resistance, emphasizing the Quran as a unifying force. It aims to revitalize hope and promote the exchange of ideas on resistance and its contribution to the progress of the Islamic Ummah between Iranian and Lebanese women.
Strengthening Ties Through Quranic Gatherings
These gatherings foster closer ties between Iranian and Lebanese women, facilitate the exchange of Quranic interpretations, and create a collective commitment to act upon the Quranic verses.

The Process
- A Quranic gathering is selected in both Iran and Lebanon (e.g., home gatherings, student groups, seminary groups, mosques).
- A joint virtual gathering is organized.
- Quranic verses are recited and interpreted by a speaker fluent in both Persian and Arabic, based on the “Living with Verses” book.
- The gathering concludes with a pledge to uphold the message of the verses and follow the path of resistance martyrs.
- The gatherings also include programs to promote the culture of resistance, such as honoring mothers, wives, and daughters of martyrs, or introducing prominent women from both countries.
Ongoing Gatherings
Several gatherings have already taken place, and the program will continue throughout Ramadan, including a gathering at the shrine of martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah on the occasion of Imam Hassan Mojtaba’s birthday, with the participation of Quranic women from Lebanon and various cities in Tehran province.
