The Women’s Kabaddi Championship of Asia will be held in Iran this March.
Tournament Details
The championship will take place in Tehran from March 4th to 8th (Esfand 14th to 18th in the Iranian calendar). Eight teams will participate, competing in two groups. The participating teams are India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Iraq, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Iran.

Abbas Khajeh Avarseji, head of the Kabaddi Federation of Iran and Asia stating: “We are hosting the Asian Championship, which will begin on March 4th in Tehran. Eight teams will be present at this event, competing in two groups. The most important thing is India’s presence in these competitions. The Iranian national team is also a good team and we are hopeful of winning a gold medal and we will fight for it.”

Iran’s Team Outlook
The head of the Kabaddi Federation added: “The women’s national kabaddi team has undergone 80 to 90 percent change and has become younger compared to the Hangzhou Asian Games. Due to major changes, the national team needs to participate in more competitions to prepare for Nagoya. After these competitions, we will also have the World Championship in India, the date of which has not yet been determined.”
