Sare Javanmardi Named Best Female Paralympic Athlete at National Sports Awards
At the Iranian National Sports Awards ceremony, held in the presence of the President, Paralympic shooter Sare Javanmardi was voted by the public as Iran’s best female Paralympic athlete.
A Champion on the World Stage
Javanmardi, who won a medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, had previously claimed gold at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, where she broke the world record.
She also holds two Paralympic gold medals from Rio and a bronze from London, adding to her impressive career achievements. In total, she has earned four golds and one bronze across various Paralympic Games.

When asked if she will compete in another Paralympics, she responded:
“It’s not impossible. When I first started, I never imagined reaching the Paralympics or even competing professionally, but this 18-year journey turned into a successful one. I got married along the way, and people said it would hinder my athletic career—it didn’t. After the birth of my child, I did fall behind for a while, but I made up for it in Paris and proved that women can succeed under any circumstances. I truly want to continue, and I believe I have what it takes for one more Paralympic Games. But I also have to think about Avash and his future, and the limitations I now face. I don’t know what the future holds, but I hope I get the chance to fight for my country once again.”
A Moment to Remember
At the same event, the public also selected the most beautiful sports moment: Javanmardi kissing the Quran at the Paris Paralympics.
