Famine in the Womb: Death Before Birth in Gaza

by faeze mohammadi

The United Nations has warned about the dire conditions of 50,000 pregnant Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip.

According to the UN, these women endure days without food, putting their unborn babies at risk of premature birth, death, and severe physical complications.

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), stated that the lack of food, fuel, and medicine in Gaza is endangering the lives of residents, especially children.

Famine and starvation are claiming countless lives in the besieged enclave. Unfortunately, human rights and international organizations have yet to take effective action to save Gaza’s population.

Amid this humanitarian crisis, the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently supported the rights of the Palestinian people and condemned the Zionist regime for its crimes against humanity. Iran urges the international community to take immediate and decisive measures to end this humanitarian catastrophe.
