A new chapter in Iranian sports history was written in Tashkent as the Iranian women’s national volleyball team clinched their first-ever Asian gold medal at the 2025 Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women’s Championship. Undefeated from start to finish, the team capped off a flawless campaign with a commanding 3–0 victory over host Uzbekistan in the grand final.
Unstoppable from Start to Finish
From their opening match against Kyrgyzstan to the final showdown with Uzbekistan, Team Iran delivered a masterclass in unity, skill, and determination. Guided by South Korean head coach Lee Do-hee, the Iranian side swept through the competition without conceding a single set — a remarkable feat that underscored their technical growth and mental resilience.
In the gold medal match, Iran’s precision and power proved too much for Uzbekistan, as they cruised through with scores of 25–14, 25–14, and 25–19. The victory not only secured the title but also showcased the team’s rising status in Asian volleyball.

Stars of the Championship
Fatemeh Khalili Chermahini was crowned Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament for her exceptional leadership and dominant play. Teammates Reyhaneh Karimi and Aytak Salamat were named to the official Dream Team, highlighting Iran’s growing presence among Asia’s elite players.
They were joined by Shabnam Alikhani, Negar Hashemi, Elahe Poursaleh, and several promising young talents who combined strength with spirit to bring glory home.
