The 13th International Conference on Women’s Health and the 5th International Conference on Social Studies of Health were held at the Velayat Complex of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.
This conference, held in collaboration with various organizations such as UNESCO (as a scientific supporter), international organizations, and the municipality and Islamic Council of Shiraz, has attracted numerous researchers from universities across the country who have submitted their papers for presentation.
Cyberspace and Women’s Health
Focusing on the theme of “Cyberspace and Women’s Health,” the conference featured a speech by Hossein Ali Amiri, the governor of Fars province, who emphasized the crucial role of women in families. He highlighted the significant progress made in empowering women in various scientific, cultural, social, and political spheres since the Islamic Revolution.
Amiri emphasized the pivotal role of women as the cornerstone of the family and society, underscoring the importance of prioritizing their health.
Dr Seyede Maryam Hosseini, a member of the Shiraz City Council, also addressed the conference, emphasizing the significance of women’s roles within the home and family. She highlighted the importance of promoting women’s health in various individual and social dimensions as a major concern in today’s society.
Hosseini, speaking from her experience as a teacher, a woman, and a people’s representative, expressed her commitment to utilizing all available resources to enhance women’s health both in society and in the cyberspace.
Dr Solmaz Ghahremani, the scientific secretary of the 13th International Conference on Women’s Health and the 5th International Conference on Social Studies of Health, provided an overview of the event. She mentioned that 445 abstracts were submitted, with 350 accepted and available on the conference website. Additionally, 20 scientific presentations related to the conference’s theme were delivered over the two-day event.
