While today’s world is influenced by agreements for the exchange of prisoners, the bitter realities of the inhuman and brutal treatment of Palestinian prisoners by the Israeli regime continue to overshadow these agreements.
In contrast, Palestinian groups, particularly Hamas, have not only adhered to humanitarian principles and human rights in their treatment of Israeli prisoners, but have also shown that even in the harshest wartime conditions, one can maintain humane behavior.
Recently, Palestinian groups have freed several Israeli prisoners. The freed prisoners, especially women, have reported that they experienced no torture or physical abuse during their captivity. They were released without signs of beatings or humiliation, and in some cases, even symbolic gifts were given to these Israeli prisoners. This respectful treatment by Palestinian groups serves as an example of upholding humanity in wartime conditions.
On the other hand, the behavior of the Israeli regime towards Palestinian prisoners reflects brutality and a gross violation of human rights. In Israeli prisons, Palestinian prisoners are held under extremely harsh and inhumane conditions. Physical and psychological torture, brutal beatings, deliberate starvation, and deprivation of medical treatment are only a few of the many forms of abuse faced by Palestinian prisoners in these prisons.
In some instances, prisoners even endure severe torture just moments before their release. These contrasting approaches once again demonstrate that the Israeli regime not only disrespects human rights but also seeks to turn Palestinian prisoners into tools for revenge and humiliation through barbaric methods.
While Palestinian groups treat Israeli prisoners based on humanitarian principles and the ethics of warfare, the Israeli regime spares no violence or cruelty against Palestinian prisoners. This contrast not only highlights the differences in the treatment of prisoners but also emphasizes the importance of respecting human rights and ethical principles in military conflicts.
