According to Jahan Banou, the 6th International conference of “Lady of Mercy” hosted by the Global Union of Muslim Women was held. In this event Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Dr. Alireza Zakani, the honorable Mayor of Tehran city of Iran Dr. Zainab Akhtari; Director General of Women and Family Affairs of Iran’s Ministry of Interior, Dr. Ensiyeh Khazali, the Vice president for Women and Family Affairs, and Mr. Sadeghi, the representative of the Supreme Leader in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were the major guests.
The slogan of this annual event was “Population, Fatemi Civilization and Islamic Culture“. More than hundreds of great personalities from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Bahrain, Lebanon, Canada, and the United States of America, came to this program that was on Wednesday, January 18th, at the International Conference hall of Milad Tower.
The Value of Family
Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, a member of the Assembly of Experts, the Iranian Constituency Assessment Forum; and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Global Union Muslim Women referring to the value of the family, said: “Lady Fatima (PBUH) as a woman is a defender of humans and humanitarian values. She is the one who used the word “sacrifice” in the real sense in her life.”
The Grand Ayatollah said further: “Lady Fatimah (PBUH) even put others before herself in her prayers; and she passed this on and continued to sacrifice until the end of her life. So the Fatemi civilization means to sacrifice for one another. A woman is the one who builds the society, the most important social texture that is formed by house-caring.
The woman is the center of the family, we understand this position by going through the verses of the Qur’an. A great family is made by a great woman and a great society is made by a great family. The chosen and superior society is the one where the families of that society are superior. The family should be a value and its culture should also be a value, and our social experience proves how great this is to us.”
The Mother’s Great Position
Ayatollah Araki continued: ” There is a true narrative that a young man went to the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and told him that he was going to join the Muslim forces to war; on the other hand, he had a mother who needed to be taken care of. The Prophet (PBUH) said to that young man: “Stay by your mother’s side because heaven is under the feet of mothers”. This is the great Islamic logic that introduces the position of women. Western culture wants to isolate the position of the mother and turn it into a counter value”.
He added: “In terms of Islamic culture, family management is the responsibility of the woman of the family. The head of the house can build a good society, and this is the important role of women which is determined. Enemies want the women of the society to be educated away from the sublime Islamic values and be unrestrained in open relationships because this kind of woman kills and destroys the family.”
And in the end, he said: “The enemies of our society seek to push our female population towards disgrace; and away from sublime values. So this conference is a step towards introducing the Islamic woman and the position of women in Islam, to the world. I hope that this event will be a move towards introducing the correct position of a living woman who carries the flag of freedom and is familiar with humanity and humanitarian values, and a woman whose role model is Lady Fatima Zahra (PBUH).”
After Ayatollah Araki’s speech, several foreign guests at the conference presented their articles about the slogan of the event.
The Great Personality of Lady Fatima (PBUH)
Later, Dr. Zainab Akhtari, gave a speech referring to the personality of Lady Zahra (PBUH) said:
“We believe that women in any healthy human society are capable; and should be allowed to contribute their efforts and experience in scientific, social, and constructive progress in the world’s management.
From this point of view, there is no difference between men and women. The purpose of the creation of each person and every human being is the same as the purpose of humanity’s creation. It means reaching human perfection and benefiting from the most virtues that a human being can be adorned with. There is no difference between men and women in this regard. Its sign is primarily Lady Fatima Zahra (PBUH) and after her the great women known in Islam’s history.”
She added further: “In the ordinary life of this honorable person, there is an important point and that is the combination between the life of a Muslim woman in her behavior with her husband and children and performing her duties at home on the one hand and the other hand; her duties as a tireless zealous warrior in dealing with important political events after the death of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
In historical documents, in an event, she comes to the mosque, makes a speech, takes a stand, and talks fearlessly defending the truth. Moreover, on the other hand, in every sense, she is a great warrior who is tireless, and hardworking. Also, from the third point of view she is a worshiper; and a person who prays throughout the nights, a person who stands up to Allah and is submissive to the Lord.”
Role-Model for a Muslim Woman
Mrs. Akhtari said: “From the point of view of Islam, these three things do not contradict each other. There is also perfection in human personality. The personality of pure Lady Zahra is distinguished and outstanding in the political, social, and fighting dimensions; all women fighters and revolutionaries, and outstanding politicians in the world can learn from her short and mysterious life. Her noble fight in different fields is exemplary.
Defending her religion, supporting her Prophet, and protecting the beloved leader of Islam; were some of the actions that Lady Fatima did during her blessed life. A woman who is accepted by Islam is such a woman and following Lady Fatima Zahra as an example leads to never-ending happiness.
Someone who follows the example of Lady Fatima (PBUH) and understands her life correctly, sacrificing and standing by everything to fulfill the tasks that God has placed on her shoulders, maintaining hijab, religion, femininity, and elegance, and defending her right. Being in the scientific, political, cultural, and social fields can be successful and effective.”
The Value of an Iranian Muslim Woman
Mrs. Akhtari, referring to the status of Iranian Muslim women, said: “Iranian Muslim women have proven that it is possible to be a woman, chaste, veiled and honorable; and at the same time at the center of social, political and cultural activities.
Having mixed the feelings of kindness and feminine knowledge with martyrdom, courage, and sacrifice and moving in this direction. A path in which there is piety, chastity, hijab, self-sacrifice, perseverance, raising children, family life; and all the adornments and spiritual virtues.”
“Women and men live together in the society and work in the environment and solve social problems together; and manage the war together, as they were actively present during the eight years of the Iran-Iraq war, also raising children together.”
Iranian Woman & the Islamic Revolution
In the end, Ms. Akhtari said: “Thanks to the Islamic Revolution, Iranian women are on a good path. Respect for women is to give women the opportunity to express the outstanding forces that are built within them at different levels of these talents.”
In the evening part of this conference, before continuing the presentation of relevant articles by foreign guests, Dr. Alireza Zakani, the respected mayor of Tehran, gave a speech and said:
“The Islamic Revolution had a clear message for the world. It taught nations to be independent in the political field. The revolution presented a new and correct concept of freedom, justice, and spirituality to the world. In a word, after hundreds of years of efforts by world-eaters to unify the globe, it presented a new discourse based on morality.”
He continued: “In the eyes of Western world devourers, with a wrong definition, human-being is at the center and seated in the place of God. the human who seeks to destroy nature and seeks maximum profit and pleasure in interacting with society and himself; but the Islamic Revolution has taught us that a human is centered, that has the honor of being God’s servant and that the divine Lord for us is Allah.
A person who does not seek to destroy nature and considers himself responsible towards society, and is seeking the realization of the Mahdavi society. A person who does not seek maximum pleasure in interacting with himself and whose goal is to grow in the path of serving God.”
The Role of a Woman within the Family
Referring to the role of women in the family, Dr. Alireza Zakani said: “The role of women is privileged in the formation of societies smallest cell, and that is family. The woman is the support of her husband and the nurturer of the child, that’s why our great Imam Khomeini said that a man is from the woman’s lap that goes to ascension. Westerners have a tool-like view of women and have been able to use the media propaganda work to influence the minds of the world in this matter to conquer them regarding this issue.
Against this mirage-like view of women, we must try to promote the correct view of females in our society and around the world, a view in which women seek to build the community and accept social responsibility in addition to housework and wifehood.
Today, our female students and professors have an active presence in the university; and the impact of their scientific activities is not hidden from anyone. The result of their scientific efforts is completely clear outside the geography of the university; and in the context of building the society.”
Final Word
At the end of his statements, Dr. Zakani said: “Iran’s Islamic Revolution’s view of women was taken into consideration as a great slogan; but despite this, it is necessary for us to create a perfect model of women based on the demands of the Islamic Revolution, and by multiplying it, we will realize civilization. To provide modern Islam in the region and the world, in realizing this path of unity, the companionship and role-playing of Muslim women are very important.
Today, the world desires for the path of truth. Day by day this path becomes clearer, and the enmity increases, but at the end of this path, what remains is the actual truth. I am honored to be with you here today. You are amazing ladies who have great thoughts and ideas, the society needs you dear ladies more than anything today, you ladies who are one by one following the best role model of women, Lady Zahra (PBUH).”
