When creativity meets purpose: Raziye Ghasemnejad, a distinguished young innovator from Kaki in Dashti County, has brought honor to Iran with her invention — a novel herbal supplement called Shafa Teb, designed to treat hypothyroidism. Her work earned her two gold medals from the European Inventors Association and a silver medal at the ISIF’25 Fair in Istanbul, underlining the growing global recognition of Iranian talent.
A Breakthrough in Thyroid Care: Shafa Teb
Dr. Ghasemnejad’s Shafa Teb stands apart from conventional thyroid treatments like synthetic levothyroxine, which must be taken in the morning. According to her, this new formulation is fully plant-based and, unlike chemical drugs, can also be taken at night, offering patients more flexibility in their routines.
Her innovative approach impressed the jury at the Istanbul International Invention Fair (ISIF’25)—held in September 2025 under the auspices of TÜRKPATENT and TEKNOFEST. The event gathers global inventors across many fields. Ghasemnejad received the silver medal at ISIF, along with recognition from TÜRKPATENT. On the European stage, she won two gold medals via the European Inventors Association, further validating her invention’s promise.

Insights from the Inventor’s Experience
Reflecting on her time at ISIF, Ghasemnejad expressed deep satisfaction with the international exchange of knowledge and expertise. She said the festival created a dynamic community of specialists and brilliant minds, offering a fertile environment for cooperation and innovation.
Her success is not limited to this recent achievement. In previous years, she earned a gold medal at Technofest for a gallstone treatment drug and three medals in the UAE for innovations in controlling and treating type 1 and type 2 diabetes. These accomplishments underline her consistent commitment to medical advancement and ingenuity.
A Role Model for Young Innovators
Raziye Ghasemnejad’s achievements represent more than just individual success in medical innovation—they embody a powerful example for Iran’s youth. Her perseverance, creativity, and self-confidence inspire a new generation to pursue bold ideas and global impact.
