Iranian climber Sarina Ghaffari has secured a gold medal at the 2024 International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) Youth Asian Championship in Jamshedpur, India.
Ghaffari triumphed in the Boulder category on Friday, showcasing her exceptional climbing skills and determination.
Another Iranian team member, Sara Zarezadeh, also made a strong showing, finishing in fifth place in the final.
Japan dominated the podium in this age group and category, claiming the silver and bronze medals.
In addition to Ghaffari’s gold, Mahdisa Hamidnezhad secured a silver medal in the same category. Japanese climber Saaya Ishikuro claimed the gold, while an Indonesian athlete took home the bronze.
The 2024 IFSC Asian Youth Sport Climbing Championship, Asia’s largest sport climbing event, is being held at the TSAF Sport Climbing Academy, JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur, from November 14 to 17.
Iran has sent a strong team of 11 athletes to compete in this prestigious championship.
