The Yemeni Health Ministry announced that the majority of the casualties from the U.S. airstrikes in Yemen were women, children, and other civilians.
Majority of Victims Are Women and Children
The airstrikes, conducted by the United States and the United Kingdom under the orders of Donald Trump, resulted in at least 31 deaths and 101 injuries, according to the Yemeni Health Ministry. Spokesperson Anis al-Asbahi stated that “most of them were children and women.”
These attacks followed Trump’s warning to Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement against targeting ships in the Red Sea. Despite Ansar Allah’s threats to resume attacks on Israeli ships in response to the blockade of Gaza, the Yemeni government had not initiated any assaults in the Red Sea or the Bab al-Mandab Strait prior to these airstrikes.

The recent bombings represent the most significant U.S. military action since Trump’s return to power in February. They come after Ansar Allah’s warnings to resume attacks on Israeli-linked vessels in the Red Sea due to Israel’s blockade of Gaza.
According to Al Jazeera, Anis al-Asbahi, spokesperson for Yemen’s Health Ministry, reported that the U.S. attacks, which began on Saturday and continued into early Sunday, targeted Sanaa, the capital, as well as areas in Saada, al-Bayda, and Rada’a. These strikes resulted in 31 deaths and 101 injuries, with “most of them children and women.”
Yemen’s Strong Support for Palestine Continues
Ansar Allah has warned that these attacks “will not go unanswered.” The group’s official website condemned what it described as “American and British aggression” and the “criminal barbarity” of Washington.
Following the U.S. attacks, Ansar Allah declared that these strikes would not deter their firm resolve to support Palestine and the people of Gaza. They affirmed their continued comprehensive support for the Palestinian people in their efforts to lift the blockade of Gaza.
